Target is, in my opinion, a great store. Let me tell you why. The local
distribution center made a donation to the Industrial Arts Department in the school where I work. They gave me in the wood shop the panel router below, as well as a drill press, a band saw (both Craftsman) and a Baldor grinder. They gave the auto shop a vertical milling machine. Today was the last day of school befor the summer, but at least my kids and I got to set the new gear up, so we will be set to go when the new year starts in August. They gave another local HS a horizontal metal lathe, another drill press and a radial arm saw. While my gloat isn't for my personal gain, I still think it is worth gloating about. Thanks, Target Glen http://www.hersaf.com/shop/index.php.../category/id/2 -- "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant: It's just that they know so much that isn't so." - Ronald Reagan |

That is just great, and very gloat-worthy. I've heard Target donates
5% of their *gross* to local causes. http://sites.target.com/site/en/corp...d=PRD03-001811 It's good to see it in action. That is an awesome panel router. What process did you / somebody in the school district follow to get the donation? Mike Brown On Jun 11, 4:32 pm, "Glen" wrote: Target is, in my opinion, a great store. Let me tell you why. One of the kids in my beginner class has a dad who works for Target. I
mentioned in class about another company that donated some things for pen turning (blanks, mandrels, the works) and how appreciative I was. The boy mentioned it to his dad and evidently the dad thought that he could do better. He talked to his superiors and they contacted me. BTW, the kid got an "A" in my class. ;-) Glen wrote in message ... That is just great, and very gloat-worthy. The kid really earned and deserved the "A." My closing comment was really
tongue in cheek. What I have found over the years that the kids who do best in school, although there are exceptions, of course, come from a stable, two parent family. There is something about the structure in the home that helps the kids see the need to strive to succeed. This is generally true whether it be academic or vocational. The kid has this, and it is obvious that his father takes an interest in his son and in education. I firmly believe that this helps explain why the kid does well in my class as well as in his other classes.
