Default Wish I needed to make an oak banquet table

Was in the local hardwood lumber store (Owl Hardwood) with my "helpers" (3
and 5 year old girls) today to pick up a piece of maple ply. Maybe you guys
see this stuff all the time, but they had two pieces of 8/4 red oak 24" wide
and 120" long. I'm not wild about working with red oak, but it would be
kinda fun to tackle some pieces this large. I shudder to think of the size
of the legs David Eisan would make for a table with a top made from these
pieces. ;-)
