I went to my friend the carver/sculptor yesterday, to say goodbye.. He's leaving
for the mainland for the summer..

He was worried that I'd run out of ironwood while he was gone and had gone
through his wood pile and had 5 pieces waiting for me.. major surprise!

3 are burl, and the other 2 are what he called (as far as I could understand, I
don't speak much Spanish) "white ironwood"..
He said that it's as hard as dark ironwood, polishes just as well, but was
white??

Time to get a new chain for the saw, for sure!
