I paid a visit to the local sawmill and picked up 275 bd ft of 5/4 x 12'
cherry and another 25 ft or so of white oak. The picture shows most, but not
all of it.

Here's the scoop: he's slowly finishing off a house that he has been
building and living in. He was planning on trimming it with Cherry. He has a
relatively new main squeeze and she is an oak fan, consequently the plan
changes and the cherry is just taking up space.

The quality is generally pretty good. All of the significant defects were on
an end or an edge, and I'd swear there were no more than a dozen knots in
the whole pile

Neener you say? how 'bout 75 cents/bd ft.
