It is with a tear in my eye that I am writing this. My shop cat and
our dear friend has gone away. He was with us for 17 years and although I didn't want a cat our daughter got what she wanted. When she married 9 years ago we got custody of Lucky. By then I couldn't let him go. He will never be forgotten. G.S. |

Condolences. 17 years is a good run so take the knowledge that he had a good life and is waiting for you across the Rainbow Bridge. http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm |

Trivia for those that don't know (Gordon Shumway was the real name of ALF on a TV show years ago, ALF liked to eat cats, especially one named Lucky). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ALF_(TV_series) -- Lits Slut #9 Life would be so much easier if we could just look at the source code. |

Like others have said, 17 years is a long life for a cat and at least they were good years for pet and owner/staff.. mac Please remove splinters before emailing |

He will never be forgotten. G.S. I feel your pain with a bit of a personal shudder. Our loving 11 year old German Shepherd is curled up beneath the desk snoring. He sleeps a lot these days. Trips up the basement steps are slower. The hearing is going and he is starting a cataract on one eye. The vet told me his equivalent human age was about 78 years and that was six months ago. He has his slow days, and then he has puppy days. But we know it is coming. RonB |

Our deepest sympathies. We've gone through this twice in the last
year. Down to one of the furry friends now. |

If I knew it was coming within a defined period, I might do some things I'd always wanted to do, see some people that I should have talked to a long time ago and done certain things that needed to be done, but I'd always put off until a later date. Of course, if I was a dog I'd probably already be doing as much as I could get away with. |

Our deepest sympathies. We lost the last of ours just a few weeks ago
in January. We're still trying to get used to it but still often think we see him coming round the corner or hear his bell in the next room. 17 years is excellent. Our last two only made it 8-9 years. We're not sure our emotions can handle another but then we hate not having the little guys around, always knowing when you need a friend. `Casper It is with a tear in my eye that I am writing this. I want to thank everyone for their kind words. It will take time, but
we know he made our lives better in so many ways. It's hard to imagine that 17 years ago I didn't like cats. Maybe someday we will get a new companion for our 11 year old that is still with us. Once again, thank you. |

So many folks who don't like cats... just haven't met the right cat! I don't like cats.... in general. When I was married we had several over the years... and I had little use for any of them. That said, ONE of them was a cool cat. He was normal, sane, playful, friendly, fearless... almost didn't even qualify as a typical cat. (I know, many would say those ARE the characteristics of a typical cat... but that's only because many like cats. Those who don't like cats see them as they are... annoying, neurotic & skittish) Anyhow, if someone gave me a kitten and could somehow guarantee he would turn out like that one normal cat I knew, I would consider keeping him. Other than that, y'all can have them. Joe Barta |
