As agift for my BOL and father whi will be making a long drive to assist in
my little barn raising I made some mallets (appropriate for driving home the oak pegs which will hold the structure together). They are a bit bigger and heavier than a general shop mallet. They are 13&1/2 x 6 x 2&7/8 and 13&1/2 x 5 x 2&7/8 respectively Except for the walnut wedges in the sapwood-handled mallet, the wood is hickory, felled by by BOL about 18 months ago. Both were sealed with shellac and wax. -Steve -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
