This is a dry fit for a step stool that I'm making for the kids' bathroom.
It's loosely based on a seat I saw in Japan last year (sorry no pics of the original). 10" high x 7"x7" at the top, tapered to 8"x8" at the base. The top step and stretchers are fit together with half-blind finger joints (the bottom of the cross-grain piece is left 1/8" thick to reinforce the cross grain finger). The legs are fit onto hand cut dovetails and taper out by 1/2" (3.5 degrees). The dovetails are cut to match the 3.5 deg taper. I haven't decided what finish to use yet. I can post again when done. -MJ |
