In retrospect; we did not understand the building and construction process. We didn't know what to expect in each phase of the building process. Sure, each home we lived in was better than the one before. The problem was that we failed to plan properly for our new home. It wasn't the contractors fault. He just built the house according to the plans. So when we decided to build our last new house we decided that enough was enough .We decided to take the lessons we learned in the past 40 years and apply them to the construction of this new house. We sat down and made a list of items that we absolutely must have in our new house. We also made a list of items that we didn't want in our new house.
