for the bandsaw i use a stick but sometimes i grab a larger piece like a 2x4
or even a recent bandsaw cut-off scrap trimming round stock can be dicey sometimes do you use a jig or clamping system i take too many risks on the bandsaw i need to make a jig with an indexer for cutting circles like for bowl blanks i was going to make one from plywood but i lose too much vertical capacity so i may make one from sheet metal and wood wood for the bandsaw groove and sheet metal for the indexer drill holes spaced at 1/2 inch and just use a trimmed tico nail to come up through the hole in the sheet metal then drill a small hole to match the tico nail in the bowl blank |
