An elderly member of the Elks was lamenting that he never had a little
red wagon as a lad. Another member and I made this 1/5 scale for his birthday. The logo was done by a local art business and a fine job they did. -- "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery" -Winston Churchill |

Yup, the real deal has 10" diameter wheels, and this scaled down has 2" diameter wheels. All the other dimensions are also one fifth. -- "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery" -Winston Churchill |

Are the wheels turned or are they sto' bought? -- GW Ross To remain silent when we should protest makes cowards out of men. |

The logo was done by a local art business and a fine job they did. They still make them. I bought one about 5 years ago to set in the back yard and put plants in. The wheels looked smaller than the one I had 65 years ago. Then I was at my mom's and there in the barn was my old Radio Flyer turning into rust. The wheels were just like the new one. Well donem and very cool ... at some point, and the older I get, I would like to switch over everything I do to 1/5 scale. ![]() -- eWoodShop: www.eWoodShop.com Wood Shop: www.e-WoodShop.net https://plus.google.com/114902129577517371552/posts http://www.custommade.com/by/ewoodshop/ KarlCaillouet@ (the obvious) |

Great. fun little project and nice paint job.
We had the Flexi also. You lay or sit on it, and it had brakes on the front, low to the ground, like a sled except for pavement. Also we made our own the skate board....a 2x4 with our steel skates attached to the front and back. john "Doug Winterburn" wrote in message b.com... When I worked in a hardware store while in high school, one of my jobs was to assemble all the wheel barrows, lawn mowers and red wagons so they could be placed on the sales floor. I long ago lost count of how many I assembled, but it was a bunch. Lew |
