Maybe I'm paranoid, but I always clamp a cracked bowl..


You can't apply as much clamping pressure as the wood can. Remember how
they split the granite out of the quarry with wooden wedges and water?



Not sure there's a whale of a lot of difference. PVA is the glue,
regardless.
