Well they are made out of metal so its got metal content....anyway
anyone have any opinions on a decent LP gas grill...We use ours hard
all year round, and usually cook out 5 out of 7 days, sometimes more.
No need for a sideburner.........

We have been buying cheaper grills and after 3 to 5 years wind up
trashing them and buying a new one again...Now the wife wants a good
grill. So far we have looked at the Weber Genisis series as well as
the Ducane and also Vermont Castings lineup....

It does not have to be a huge grill as its mainly just the wife and I
most times.

While the cheap grills are fine, parts later on are a pain to obtain
if at all possible, and most we have ever owned the burners just do
not hold up very long.

I bought a Char-broil 100 from HD eleven years ago and had to replace
the cooking grill last year after the rods were getting rusted/scraped
dangerously thin. The rock grate has a strip of sheet mild steel over
the burner area which I have replaced twice. The original burner and
push button ignitor are still in service.
Original cost for this basic, no frills, no bells, no whistles
burger/steak cooker was just over Cdn.$100 including new propane tank.
The best thing about this unit is that I am still on the original
burner, whereas the previous grill needed a new $50 burner every other
year.

I have a Weber Genesis myself, Have it bolted to the deck and converted
to use the big tank that also feeds the house. Only thing I will say is
to get one that has stainless flavorizer bars and either stainless or
cast iron grates. The cheaper ones only last about 4 years before they
rust. If you plan on doing any rotisserie cooking get the Weber unit, it
fits better and is very well made. I know a Ducane dealer (same guy who
sells me propane) He told me that he uses a Weber himself because the
Ducane is EXPENSIVE to repair. He said that he has replaced the burners,
grates and the handles on his Ducane twice in 6 years.

I have been looking at the dual fuel units myself (wood pellet and
propane) They are not cheap but it looks like they are built pretty
stout and might offer some more ability for smoking and roasting.
